Client
Maresca is a seafood restaurant overlooking the Riccione seafront, offering mid-range cuisine that combines tradition and modernity.

Assignment
Redesigning Maresca's identity after the change in management, transforming it into a tool capable of enhancing the restaurant's heritage and communicating its new direction. The aim was to update the image, freeing it from an outdated aesthetic and making it more recognisable and contemporary, so as to reposition the restaurant to reach its current audience.

Process & Solution
The new visual identity stems from the classic imagery of Italian seaside resorts, reinterpreted in a contemporary key. The new system replaces textures and decorative excesses with clean typography and references to marine signage from the 1970s and 1980s, creating a renewed image that communicates change without betraying its roots.

Research and visual references
The research phase explored the visual imagery of the Italian Riviera, with particular attention to seaside iconography and the lettering of vintage signs. Claude Nori's photographs were one of the main visual references, offering a glimpse into the past and suggesting colour palettes and graphic ideas.
