Client Rusconi Libri Service Editorial Design Role Graphic Designer Year 2024—2025Client
Rusconi Libri is a historic Italian publishing house that combines a long publishing tradition with a keen eye on the present. It publishes fiction, non-fiction and children's books, creating a wide and accessible catalogue.
Challenge
Rusconi Libri commissioned the design of a new series identity for the “1+1 at €9.90” promotion, featuring a selection of over 30 classic titles. The request was to develop a single, recognizable visual system that could be easily replicated across a large number of books and stand out on the shelf within a limited-time promotional initiative.
Process & Solution
Starting from the constraint that books could only be purchased in pairs, the project was conceived as a visual system designed to work through combinations. The goal was to allow each volume to freely interact with the others, ensuring that any pairing would feel coherent and balanced. The chosen identity is inherently flexible, designed to work across a wide and heterogeneous selection of classic titles. A modular language based on color and illustrative patterns allows the system to accommodate different authors, themes, and tones while maintaining a consistent visual voice. Each book features a dedicated color palette and a pattern generated through the repetition of shared graphic elements, ensuring variety, recognizability, and scalability across the entire collection.
